With temperatures around 55 degrees and bright sunshine highlighting the efforts of 500 runners and walkers to conquer their choice of the 5K or 10K distance, everyone worked together at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park for better men’s health and to fight prostate cancer.

Congratulations once again to Integrated Medical Foundation Exective Director Rhonda Samuel, whose efforts continue to meld seamlessly into those of the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) efforts to make the Blue Ribbon one of the autumn’s best Long Island races.

Thanks to key sponsors Advanced Radiation Centers of New York, Advanced Urology Centers of New York, Abbvie, Chase and Know Error, as well as product sponsors All Round Foods, the Runner’s Edge, Apple and Eve and the Bagel Boss of East Norwich. Thanks as well to participating sponsors Dendreon, Tolmar, Shiel Medical Labs, Wet Brush, Sanofi, Staples Advantage, Janssen and Coloplast.

Special thanks go to Curtis Sliwa of the Guardian Angels, himself a survivor of prostate cancer, for his support and his inspirational words at the start of the event.
