Adventures in Learning’s Board of Directors is launching its Annual Fundraising Drive. Located in Manhasset at the Hagedorn Community Center at the Manhasset/Great Neck EOC Building on High Street, Adventures provides after-school educational programs in a safe, supervised environment for the underserved student population in our community. This includes tutoring, reading and math, computer instruction, art and music enrichment programs, scouting and more. For many students, English is not their first language.
Students attend both Manhasset and Great Neck School Districts. Approximately 75 percent of Adventures’ children graduate from high school, and about 90 percent of these graduates go on to college. These are impressive academic results. Yet, despite these achievements, Adventures operates on a tight budget and faces deficit funding. Today, there are 65 students enrolled with 20 local children on the waiting list.
Adventures needs your assistance so that these 20 students can also be given academic support. With your help, this will be a win-win for one and all, since this is an investment in our children’s future and our communities.
