Jay Hernandez is getting our votes for Park District Commissioner on Tuesday, Dec. 8. We’ve known Jay for years and can tell you that he is an extremely community-minded and thoughtful person; he approaches issues and decision-making with an intelligent, practical and logical manner.
We also know that since Jay has been an LIRR commuter for years, he has many thoughts on how to use more current technology to help make the day to day use of our train station facilities easier and more efficient for all riders. If you’ve ever had to rush to make a train, finding a parking space (If you can find one) can be a stressful experience.
In addition, Jay’s years of experience in the financial/business sector will enable him to contribute greatly to managing the finances and budgeting process of our park district as transparently as possible while bringing actionable and innovative ideas to the table. He is terrific at weighing the pros and cons of issues and finding ways to streamline and cut costs.
