Head to All Music on Dec. 19 to help Long Island’s hungry.

Residents are invited to join Plainview’s All Music Inc. and Long Island Cares for a unique holiday food and toy drive with special musical guests on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at All Music, 397 S. Oyster Bay Rd. in Plainview.

Performances will include special guest star J Randy, musician Keri Wirth and more.

Those who plan on attending are encouraged to bring both non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys. Long Island Cares estimates there are more than 300,000 Long Islanders hungry—which includes nearly 118,000 children. Approximately 283,700 people on Long Island receive emergency food each year, that’s 64,900 people every week, and children who are hungry are more likely than their peers to experience behavioral issues, reduced ability to learn social skills and impaired cognitive learning—even permanent brain damage.

“It’s always important to give back to the community, but at this time of season I find it to be especially necessary to make sure we don’t forget those less fortunate than ourselves,” said Guy Brogna, owner of All Music Inc., which provides instrument repairs, instrument rentals and sales, or music lessons to Long Island musicians. “That’s why we are extremely excited to be working with LI Cares on this event, to try and make a real difference this year.”

Representatives from Long Island Cares will also be on site with a tent, information table, van and plenty of volunteers helping to facilitate collection of food and toys.

To help make a difference and provide Long Islanders in need, join these two Long Island organizations. For more information on Long Island Cares, visit www.licares.org or call 631-582–3663. For more information about All Music, go to www.allmusicinc.com.
