The Nassau County Soccer Coaches Association held its annual awards banquet on Dec. 1 at the Long Island Marriott to recognize the outstanding boys soccer players in Nassau County for the 2015 season. Mineola High School athletes were among those recognized for outstanding seasons.
Junior Dimas Cabrera, the team’s leading scorer, was recognized as an All County selection. Junior captain Brandon Mendes, after having been awarded All Conference in 2014, was awarded a spot on the Honorable Mention All County team. Juniors Luis Tinoco, Anthony Abbatiello, and Michael Rodrigues were selected as All Conference recipients. The Scholar-Athlete award for the Mustangs was given to Eric Pereira.
The team had a successful year, earning their second consecutive playoff berth, and, with a young but experienced team, the Mustangs look to improve on this years success with a deep run into the playoffs next season.
