MHS Girls Varsity Basketball Kick Off Season

Massapequa Girls Varsity Basketball officially kicked off their 2015-16 season and are currently 3-1, with wins coming over St. John the Baptist High School, North Shore High School and Midwood (Brooklyn). The team, led by senior Melanie Hingher, looks to continue their success with their first league game against Syosset. You can show your support for the team by coming to their upcoming home games at MHS on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Clinic & “Fan of the Game Program”

At every home game this season, the team is looking for two fans (girls in grades 4 – 7) to join on the bench and in pre and post-game team meetings. There are still spaces available at the following home games: Dec. 31, Jan. 7, 15 and 29 and Feb. 8. Please contact Coach Shackel-Scott at escott@msd.k12.ny.us if interested.

Additionally, the team invites girls and boys in grades 2-5 to join them on Sunday, Dec. 20 for a “Drop and Shop” fundraising clinic from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The cost of the clinic is $20 per child ($10 for each addition sibling). Information and registration forms can be found on the Massapequa School District’s athletics website at www.msd.k12.ny.us/district.cfm?subpage=2283
