Dr. Steven Brook, founder of Country Foot Care in Mineola, has been working with an Shoes for the Homeless, a California-based charity to provide shoes to the homeless and to those in need, free of charge. He is certainly not new to the giving game, as he and his wife Debbie are actively involved in over 10 charities themselves.
“Shoes for the Homeless is an organization that is well known in the podiatric community,” he said. “They are based in California and were excited when we contacted them about being a New York hub. Our whole group has seen the disastrous effects of frostbite and other foot maladies throughout winter. With the growing homeless population, it was a no-brainer to get involved.”
