The Port Washington Police District reported the arrest of a Port Washington resident in connection with two robberies that occurred in Port Washington North. On Dec. 13, at approximately 6:40 p.m., a local delivery driver was robbed of cash at gunpoint while making a delivery on Seagull Lane. On Dec. 21, at approximately 11:55 p.m., another driver from the same company was robbed of cash at gunpoint while making a delivery on Seaview Lane.
Port Washington Police District detectives conducted an investigation and on Dec. 22, 24-year-old Kyle E. Kimmel was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Kimmel was arraigned in 1st District Court on Dec. 23 and held on $45,000 bail.
Port Washington Police Chief James Salerno praised the work of the patrol officers and detectives who brought this case to a successful conclusion.
