Nassau County Police Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for making a terror threat which occurred in East Garden City on last Thursday, 01/28/16 at 5:21 P.M.
According to detectives, Elvis Governor, 53, of 211 Cornell St., while in Macy’s Department store located at 630 Old Country Rd., called 911 stating there was a bomb in the store. Nassau County Police performed a complete search of the store yielding negative results. The store was re-opened several hours later.
No injuries were reported.
Subsequent investigation by Major Case Bureau detectives led to the arrest of Governor on Saturday, 01/30/16 in Hempstead. He is being charged with Making a Terroristic Threat and will be arraigned on Sunday, 01/31/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
