Students at Walt Whitman Elementary School in Syosset recently had the opportunity to circle around the globe from the comforts of their gymnasium during the school’s International Fair.
Parent volunteers created and manned stations representing different countries and cultures from all over the world. Other parents served as “flight attendants” as the students rotated from station to station, learning about the history and customs from each country. Students participated in yoga while visiting India, played maracas in Mexico and learned what it’s like to be a Viking in Denmark.
Parents John and Debra Katz coordinated the event with other Walt Whitman parents.
