Golden Age Happenings

A wonderful time was had by all at a recent Golden Age luncheon held at the Chateau Briand. As always, the luncheon itself was most delicious, comprising of an appetizer course, pasta, a main course, as well as dessert and coffee. As if that wasn’t enough, members availed themselves of demi-tasse or cappuccino. Centerpieces were made by Dottie Geehrer and Marie Byrnes, and one lucky winner at each table happily went home with a beautiful centerpiece.

GoldenAge__CThe luncheon was somewhat bittersweet, as Joe Ratto, who has played music and entertained members for 15 years, has now retired. In recognition of his connection with the club, he was made an honorary member and given a badge and a certificate of appreciation. He was feted with a large cake made especially for him, which was shared by members.

Members—accompanied by Ratto—had fun playing musical chairs without the chairs. Other member favorites were circle dances and line dances, also accompanied by Ratto. About 140 members were in attendance for this enjoyable afternoon.
