Floral Park Runner Heads To NJIT

FloralParkRunner_051316Floral Park Memorial High School is proud to announce that senior Sarah Morgan will attend New Jersey Institute of Technology on an academic/athletic scholarship in the fall. Morgan has achieved many accomplishments as a varsity runner, including being designated All-Conference and Most Valuable Player for cross-country in 2014-15 and 2015-16. She was also named All-County and Most Valuable Player in 2014-15 for spring track.

In the 2014-15 cross-country season, Morgan was running in the All-County meet and was in 10th place when she stopped to help another runner in need. The Floral Park runner ran to get an official before finishing the race. She would have placed as an All-County runner, but ultimately didn’t qualify because she stopped to help. Morgan’s action during that race speaks volumes of her character.

Coach Kathy Crowley and coach Ken Becker, along with Principal Dr. Kathleen Sottile and Athletic Director James Jackman, are also proud of Morgan’s accomplishments.
