Manhasset SEPTAs Ladies Night Out

Manhasset Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) held its Spring Fling fundraiser on Thursday, May 5, at the Port Washington Yacht Club. The gala event was a wonderful girl’s night out with good friends, exciting raffle prizes and fun. A B C DThe sold-out annual event had a Cinco de Mayo theme appropriate for the date, and all who attended enjoyed a complimentary Skinny Girl margarita and a delicious spread to nibble on. SEPTA President Blanca McKenna thanked all who attended as well as the hardworking committee who helped to make the evening a grand success.
Manhasset SEPTA’s mission is to empower the special needs, gifted and talented community with knowledge to ensure every child has the highest standard of educational excellence and quality of life. There are programs for all children including special education, autistic, gifted and talented. SEPTA has sponsored such programs as Assistive Technology for Struggling Learners, Matt the Music Man, Medication Interventions for Common Childhood Psychiatric Conditions and Yoga for Special Needs Kids. Some of the gifted and talented enrichment programs include Saturday Science Research, Chinese Culture and Language, as well as Public Speaking.
