The members of the Mineola Junior Fire Department recently took their annual trip up to the Lake George region to enjoy the fun parks, each other’s company and year-round beauty of the mountains and lakes.
The juniors stayed at the Depe Dene waterfront lodge. At the resort, they had a chance to swim and relax at the resort’s beach, which has paddle boats, row boats and canoes. Twice during the week members rented a speed boat and a deck boat, so they could enjoy water tubing and a ride on the beautiful Lake George. Other fun activities included bumper cars, laser tag and roller skating at the Fun Spot Amusement center, as well as fishing and horseback riding in the mountains.
On the fourth day of the trip, juniors got up early and after breakfast it was time to head for Vermont where they spent the day at Bromley Mountain Amusement Park. While there, the members enjoyed zip lining and rode down the mountain on the popular Alpine sled. They spent the whole day at Bromley and everyone kept busy enjoying all the rides and amusements that the park had to offer. On the last night, members went to Lake George Village where they enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner and some shopping. The night ended at Martha’s ice cream stand. The members left the six-day journey with fond memories of their Lake George trip.
