Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano honored lifelong Levittown resident John Mangan, a former New York Police Department Officer and September 11, first responder, with a citation last month at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. Mangan created a sign, in support of law enforcement officers across the country, and stands on Hempstead Turnpike, weekly, pledging his support for our law enforcement.
“I’d like to thank John Mangan for his service and for everything he does to pay tribute to our brave and heroic police officers across the country,” said Mangano. “In light of recent tragic events, we owe a major debt to our police officers and first responders. What John does is important in reminding people of the sacrifice that all of our first responders make and the dangers that they face on a daily basis.”
