Earlier this summer, the Women’s Guild of St. Kilian Church held its annual Communion Breakfast at the Colonial Springs Golf Club in East Farmingdale. Following an 8 a.m. Mass at St. Kilian Church in Farmingdale, the members and guests gathered at Colonial Springs for breakfast, where Gay Sheridan, chairlady of the event, introduced Reverend Bruce J. Powers, pastor of St. Kilian Church, who said grace prior to the meal.

The guest speaker for the occasion was Claire Stiglic, associate director of St. Kilian Religious Education. Stiglic gave a stirring talk about how women build and shape one another in every phase of their lives, and the immense power that women have to teach, inspire, uplift and love each other.

Following Stiglic’s presentation was the Passing of the Gavel ceremony, wherein outgoing President Judy Olenick thanked the 2015-2016 executive board and all the committee chairs before passing the gavel of office to incoming President Jeri Fioravanti. Fioravanti then presented the new 2016-2017 executive board of directors to the membership.
