Art Museum Debuts New Photography Exhibits

Nassau County Museum of Art’s invitation-only members and press preview lured many North Shore residents who were among the numbers of New York-area artists, art collectors and gallery owners. They were the first to see the museum’s three new photography exhibitions, an exploration of the art of photography from almost its earliest days through to the work of some of the most prominent contemporary masters of photography.

Two of the exhibitions, “Ansel Adams: Sight and Feeling” and “Light Works: 100 Years of Photography” were organized by Michigan’s Kalamazoo Institute for the Arts. The third exhibition, “New Photos: Long Island Collects,” features more recent works of photography, from the second half of the 20th century down to the present day, all on loan from Long Island collectors.

The exhibits opened to the public on November 19 and remain on view through March 5.
