
Estelle R. Goodman died peacefully in her home in Bridgeport, CT, on July 20. She was 90 years old.
Known as “Tellie,” Estelle Rackson was born in Syracuse, NY, and was married for 65 years to the late Jay S. Goodman, also of New York. Raising their three daughters, they lived for many years in Great Neck. Mr. Goodman maintained a private law practice in which she joined him as his legal secretary. She enjoyed playing tennis and sailing on the Long Island Sound before they retired to Connecticut in 2011.
She is survived by her brother, Chester B. Rackson, her sister, Irma R. Greenspan, and their spouses, Sally and Gil; her children, Karen J. Goodman, Bonnie L. Goodman, Diane G. Maupin, and their husbands, Mitch, Howard and Sam; and by her grandchildren, Laura, David, Oliver, Lance, Melanie, Sarah, Shira, Jared and Adiya; and great-grandchildren, Zoe, Owen, Augie, Savannah and Isla.
She lived a full and remarkable life and will be greatly missed by both devoted old friends and new ones made in the final years of her life. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 24, with interment in Elmont, NY. The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home in Fairfield, CT, is in care of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association or the Planned Parenthood Organization.
