After five years of serving the Oyster Bay community, the Madd Potter will close its doors on Jan. 31. Co-owners Julie Heiss and Lisa McGowan opened their walk-in paint-your-own pottery and craft studio at 17 Audrey Ave. in March 2013, playing host to numerous birthday parties, creative camps and Kid’s Night Outs.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of our store,” Heiss and McGowan said in a post on the website. “We are so grateful to all of our wonderful customers for an incredible five years.”

The Madd Potter was also a popular spot for adults to gather and explore their creative side; the studio held a regular Ladies Night Out for women to get together with girlfriends and paint pottery as well as an occasional Adult Paint Night for people to come and paint a canvas.

“This town treasure will surely be missed,” said Fran Johnston.
