Letter: Fence Blocks Access

I am the owner of Umbertos in Manhasset. I don’t know if you’re aware but our neighbors put up a fence blocking us as well as many other businesses from the municipal parking lot. Our main concern is about our customers. We had hundreds of people that used to be free to walk through as they pleased and cross over to the movies, or anywhere else. And it is not just us. All of the other businesses like the barber shop, shoe repair shop and the dry cleaners used to have customers that parked in that municipal parking lot and now they have nothing.

It has been one day and already we have gotten so many complaints. As a municipal parking lot we feel that anyone should be able to park there and that they should be free to enter any store that they please. Is there anything to help our customers and the people of Manhasset out?
