Children’s Entertainment At Oyster Festival

OF Crowds D.jpegThere are plenty of activities for children during the Oyster Festival, from carnival rides to the petting zoo. On both Saturday and Sunday, children can enjoy the carnival by Newton Shows, sponsored by Wild Bill’s Olde Fashioned Soda, on Fireman’s Field. Newton Shows is the oldest family-owned and operated carnival company on Long Island. Since their father bought his first Ferris wheel over 65 years ago as a fun way to make money to support his growing family, the Newton family has been honored to serve Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and parts of Westchester County. Over the years they have helped raise millions of dollars through their nonprofit “Partners in Fun” program and have supplied unrivaled entertainment for their corporate “Partners in Fun.”

On West End Avenue, children can meet exotic animals of the R.W. Commerford Zoo and enjoy camel rides and pony rides. And Kings of The Coast Pirates are back from another century sponsored by the Steven And Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center, thanks to a generous grant from Kohl’s Cares Keeping Kids Healthy Program. Children need not be afraid as these are friendly scoundrels who will be inviting them on hunts for
New this year is the Butterfly Experience, a family-owned and operated business. This is a fun and educational experience for the entire family. The fair goers get to go inside the exhibit with a feeding stick, feed, interact and learn fun facts about the butterflies. The staff goes above and beyond to answer all questions and treat everyone like they’re part of the family.

For added convenience, there is a baby changing station sponsored by Long Island Parent and Babyganics located on West End Avenue across from the West End Stage. The tent will be set up complete with changing station and stocked with Babyganics product. Take a moment away from the hustle and bustle to take care of your baby’s needs.
