Wally

How about a new best friend for the new year? Check out some of the cutest cats and dogs just waiting to go home with their new forever family today!

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter

Dean is a 2-year-old Male Domestic Shorthair Mix that was found as a stray. He is affectionate and outgoing with people and other cats. He is large in his stature and large in his ability to love! Dean has a chronic condition that causes his eyes to run, and this needs to be wiped away regularly, but he enjoys the attention and never gives you a hard time about it. He is otherwise a completely healthy and low-key mush.

Currently, there are a variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun-loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two! All of the felines at the Shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam, etc.) by a board-certified Veterinarian.

If you are interested in meeting Dean or any of the other adorable cats and kittens available for adoption, please call 631-360-7575 today for more information.

Available for adoption through Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society

Daisy
Daisie

Meet Daisie.  Her foster mom described her as “the most amazing dog I have ever had in my entire life”.  She is smart, happy, and very affectionate.  She likes to hug and is good with kids.  Daisie knows basic commands and will even give her paw.  She only weighs about 30lbs, but she is a loyal protector of her people.  She needs a new loving and affectionate forever home.

Gatsby
Gatsby

**Senior Alert** Gatsby is an 11-year-old handsome male tabby whose senior mom recently passed away.  Gatsby is very affectionate with people, other cats, and small dogs.  He is front declawed, healthy, and up to date on all of his shots.  In other words, he is ready to go home with you today!

Nisa
Nisa

Nisa is a 5-year-old purebred German Shepard who is in need of a new home due to her owner’s personal reasons, not because of anything she did.  She’s been around a child since it was an infant, so she’s a gentle girl who loves to lick faces and gives kisses.  It is unknown how she is with other dogs and cats so likely best if she is the only pet in the house.  Nisa loves to run around and play so a fully fenced yard is a must. She is spayed and fully vetted.

For more information about adopting or fostering Daisie, Gatsby, or Nisa, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616. You can also visit their website at http://www.paws-li.org

Wally
Wally

Wally is an adorably sweet 3-year-old, 55 lb Terrier mix who has been at the shelter since July 2019 – way too long! Wally came in as a stray with old wounds/scarring covering his ears, face, and legs. No one is sure as to what happened to Wally, but he is now safe and loved by volunteers and staff. This guy is understandably a bit nervous with new people so he’s looking for an adult-only home with dog experience to help him through his nerves and to continue with training. He is also being recommended as a solo pet, but don’t worry – Wally has more than enough love to give to his perfect match! If you are interested in learning more, please email adoption@tohmail.org or call 516-785-5220 for more information today!

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America

Franny
Franny

When local heroes found Franny (Adoption #L80612) abandoned, they leaped into action to secure her a safe place in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. NSALA has given this frightened little lady all the loving care she needs to gain confidence and has discovered she’s a delightful playmate when given the opportunity to settle into new situations. They’d love for one-year-old Franny to continue growing more confident in a quiet home with kids 16+ in age. She’ll feel safest as the only pet in the household where she’ll have nothing distracting her from offering all of her gratitude to her heroes—the humans who make her a part of their family.

Kathy Bates
Kathy Bates

**Senior Alert** Kathy Bates (Adoption #BF3643)is as delighted to meet you as you are to meet her! This dainty 9-year-old beauty was rescued locally and just can’t believe her good fortune by landing in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center where the promise of a more peaceful life awaits her. Kathy can’t tell us everything she’s been through to get to this moment, but she is eager to let us know she’s filled with gratitude for the chance at a fresh start. If you’d like to offer her nothing but happiness for the rest of her life, she’s waiting for you; just thinking about going home to a forever home has her purring again!

Max Headroom
Max Headroom

**Senior Alert** Don’t tell Max Headroom (Adoption #H202020) he could use to shed a few pounds. This big-boned, 8-year-old friend thinks he can still fit into his skinny jeans! He also thinks there’s a place for him in your heart so be prepared to fall in love when you say hello. It’s all part of his endless charm. He may seem tentative at first, but with just a little encouragement, Max Headroom is all set to make a big comeback—right in the middle of your heart!

Stormy
Stormy

Yes, Stormy (Adoption #H210223)is stunning! Who doesn’t appreciate a dilute tortie without tortitude? But her demands for attention will precede her beauty. One-year-old Stormy isn’t about to sit around and wait for someone to notice her. This attention-grabbing gal is ready to go home right now, so if you’d like to help a local rescue complete her rags-to-riches story, please stop by and listen to what Stormy has to say.

**Double Adoption** Although staff and volunteers at North Shore Animal League America are quite smitten with one-year-olds Margie (Adoption #BF2509) and Marjorie (Adoption #BF2511), we’ve yet to find a home that befits their shy dispositions. All this bonded set of sisters asks for is some patience, a predictable home to settle into, and purrhaps some treats to sweeten the deal. A home with children 8+ in age and cat-experienced adults will reassure them that they can safely overcome their trepidation and enjoy the playtime and ear rubs they’ve come to cherish from their trusted Animal League America team.

Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir
Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir

**Double Adoption** When a pair of shy, seven-month-old bonded brothers needed help finding a permanent place, Animal League America happily got involved. While Bob Weir (Adoption #H210229) is nervous about the whole change in his life, his slightly more comfortable partner Jerry Garcia (Adoption #H210228) is trucking along, hoping our promises of a safe future together is indeed on its way for these touch of grey tabbies. Bob and Jerry will do more than get by. Thanks to heroes like their rescuers and adopters; these grateful boys will survive and thrive in their safest home!

Gracie Mansion and Sadie Hawkins
Gracie Mansion and Sadie Hawkins

**Double Adoption** Gracie Mansion (Adoption #H210230)and Sadie Hawkins (Adoption #H210231)recently lost their first home due to owners’ allergies. That’s okay because their best lives are ahead for these sweet, bonded 16-month-old ladies. While Sadie prefers hiding safely behind her extroverted sister, Gracie is committed to putting her best paw forward and helping us find this pair a fresh start with a new, devoted family. With just a little bit of tenderness, you could be welcoming the sweetest pair of sisters into your home by the end of the day!

Ricky Bobby
Ricky Bobby

4-year old Ricky Bobby (Adoption #H210222) was on a great adventure in Staten Island when his hero discovered him and told him about a better life awaiting him in the great indoors.  His solo experiences have left him FIV+ but with a very positive disposition! This agreeable boy is always game for new adventures, and although the change in environment has left him somewhat mystified, a home with children 10+ in age will help him figure out how great his life is now that he’s safe and cared for. You’ll find Ricky Bobby racing to meet you when you rally to his side (if you’re not first, you’re last!)  NSALA is hoping the real winner is you when you cross the finish line and make Ricky Bobby part of your family!

As always, thanks for reading, and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
