Adoption Jojo

Jojo is a one-year-old charmer that is a true beacon of positivity and affection. Once a stray, he has transformed into a healthy and loving companion. JoJo’s warm nature knows no bounds—he adores every person he meets and quickly forms strong connections. Despite his challenging past, JoJo’s resilience has shone through. He’s a great fit with other dogs and is perfectly at ease with cats. Weighing in at a comfortable 44 pounds, he’s a medium-sized bundle of joy. When it comes to walks, JoJo is a dream—he walks calmly on a leash without pulling. His house training is solid, and his barking is minimal. While he’s great with children, his energetic nature suggests he might be better suited to families with slightly older kids. This lovable pup is excitedly waiting for a forever family to call his own.

Adoption Gucci

Meet Gucci! This gorgeous, coppery brindle girl has lots of love to share! Playing with her toys near you while you’re working or relaxing is her favorite thing to do. She also enjoys curling up next to you on the sofa for a nap, or with her head against your foot as you work on the computer. This girl obviously likes a calm life and being right by your side, and she would do well in a home where someone can spend quality time with her. Gucci enjoys her outdoor walks, strolling nicely along your side. Even though she can be shy, she’s made lots of new human and dog friends on leashed walks and is learning to be more confident every single day.

Adoption Laurel

Introducing Laurel! This adorable fellow experienced a hit and run incident that resulted in a severed tail while he was on the streets of Laurelton. Consequently, he carries deep fear and requires time to establish trust with humans. Although he’s gradually showing signs of emerging from his shell during playtime, Laurel would greatly thrive in the care of a compassionate and patient foster parent. Offering him the extra tender loving care he rightfully deserves could help him regain his confidence and faith in people once more.

Adoption Lasanga

Lasagna is a very loving young and affectionate cat/couch potato. He would love to find a home where he can have another feline companion. Can you provide the furever home he needs to thrive?

Adoption Barbie

*Rabbit Request* Barbie is a black and white rabbit who was found abandoned at Sunken Meadow State Park along with her male companion, Ken. Ken has since been adopted, and now it’s time for Barbie to find her own dream home. Sweet Barbie took her time to warm up to Animal Shelter staff, but she has now blossomed into a loving little beauty who enjoys snacking on yogurt treats and Romaine lettuce. Barbie is litter trained and spayed, and she would do best in a home with older children.

The Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter is not equipped to safely house animals other than dogs and cats long term. However, if an animal is in danger and needs housing temporarily until another rescue has room, they do our best to provide safe shelter while we can. While the animal waits for space to open in another rescue, it will be available for adoption through their Adoption Center.

To adopt this Barbie girl, please call the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.
