Age isn’t stopping seniors at St. Johnland Nursing Center in Kings Park from traveling the world.

Thanks to new technology known as MyndVR, residents at St. Johnland were able to travel to various locations and do exciting activities as well.

MyndVR is building the most advanced portfolio of original and licensed therapeutic VR content that enables older adults to interact with the outside world in innovative ways that promote engagement, wellness, and positive outcomes

The residents, ranging in age from the early 80s and into their 90s were able to visit Amsterdam and Paris, watch the opening scene of Lion King, catch butterflies in a net and even sky-dive.

“I always wanted to go the Europe, but it was never possible,” resident Paul Reuther who visited Amsterdam, said. “It feels like I’m right there. You are seeing all the sights and all the people.”

Ronni Izzo, Rita Sandalena and Bill Moran joined Paul on various adventures including skydiving and going to Broadway.

“Just seeing the smile on their faces was proof that this new technology may someday be used in senior care facilities worldwide,” St. Johnland said in a news release.
