The Art Guild calls high school students to submit artworks

The Art Guild of Port Washington is inviting Nassau County high school students to submit artworks for consideration to its 2025 Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition and Exhibition.

The first-place winner will receive $300, while the second-place winner will win $200 and the third-place winner will win $100. Honorable mentions will receive gift cards. The deadline to submit is Tuesday, Oct. 14. The reception and awards ceremony will take place Sunday, Nov. 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. Art will be on view from Nov. 2 to Nov. 29.

Last year, nearly 200 students submitted 300 pieces of art from all across Nassau County.

The first-place winner was Raven Canzoineri of Hicksville High School for Constructs of the Mind. The second-place winner was Becky Feygin of Hewlett High School for Unchanged Room, while Ben Segal of Syosset High School placed third for Narcissist. Honorable mentions included Dana Wang of Roslyn High School, Annemie Germans of Locust Valley High School, Katie Kun of Syosset High School and Kenji La of Manhasset Secondary School.

The Art Guild is a nonprofit organization that provides an inclusive community to all who pursue the arts. Every November, it hosts an exhibition in its gallery for high school students from Nassau County

. It is the only juried art competition held exclusively for Nassau County high school students, according to the organization.
