Cherry Lane School in Carle Place hosted its annual Career Day, honoring the special people who make a difference in the community. The event was organized by English as a new language teacher Nicole Santos, and welcomed local professionals — most of whom are parents or relatives of Cherry Lane students and staff — to read to students and share insights about their careers.
Visitors included a physician assistant, police officers, an HVAC worker, a dentist, a pediatric dentist, a hair color specialist, an air traffic controller, a nurse, a pediatric nurse, a bakery owner and a film artist. Each guest read a book to a class and discussed their profession, giving students a firsthand look at the important contributions these individuals make to their communities.
The day was filled with engaging conversations, questions and memorable moments as students connected with their visitors, making Career Day a meaningful and enriching experience for the entire Carle Place community.
