New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s Model UN team wins awards at the Boston Model United Nations Conference

New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s Model United Nations Club recently participated in the 25th annual Boston University Model United Nations Conference.

The students competed alongside 175 schools worldwide. Each student representing New Hyde Park showcased their preparation through their extraordinary leadership, diplomacy and kindness.

Whether they were in a debate about climate change or Minecraft, each delegate made sure to listen carefully, think under pressure and adapt to change.

New Hyde Park’s delegates earned a total of 19 individual awards, recognizing their excellence in public speaking, resolution writing and collaboration.

The entire delegation won the overall Outstanding Large Delegation Award as a result of the students’ collective hard work and success.

With seven delegation awards in the last eight conferences, New Hyde Park’s Model UN team has demonstrated a consistent level of success. The team is advised by Jonathan Novak.

The following students were honored:

Best Delegate: Keith Luu, Darsh Mirchandani and Dhara Patel.

Outstanding Delegate: Ariana Muhammad, Zahra Nuha and Nyelle Sarreal.

Honorable Delegate: Liam Cavanagh, Shohom Chakraborty, Rehan Farooq, Arvin Ghai, Jasmin Hernandez, Mihir Jadhav, Alphonse Jaison, Eaiden John, Anjali Kamdar, Jason Kang, Rocco Lipari, Zahra Mazkur, Gavin Mohabir, Jay Shah and Krish Singh.
