New York-based artist Imani Monrie hosted an exhibition reception titled ‘Transformation – The Works of My Hands’ at the Uniondale Public Library.
The exhibit of 30+ pieces, old and new, connected to the journey of the work that has transformed the artist through the process. Monroe uses collage, painting and photography to create abstract images through a lens of complex layers, colors, patterns and compositions. The opening reception was attended by a full house, including family and friends.
“Growth begins by challenging who you are, what you do, and deciding to give yourself permission to do things in new ways. Thank you to everyone who shows up to support the ongoing work we do as creatives! Your presence and your voice are a valued part of my journey and I appreciate you!” said Monroe.
