Holiday Happenings

As November ends, the weekly Saturday Artisan Craft Fair & Sunday Farmers Market are winding down, and Farmingdale Village has several community events planned. The annual Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade and visit with Santa will be held on Saturday Nov. 22 at noon. The Holiday Parade assembles at Northside School and proceeds south down Main Street, ending at the Village Green with Santa giving out Candy canes and photo ops for the kids. Plus bring an unwrapped gift as there will be a collection for Marine

Toys for Tots. The Village thanks the Chamber of Commerce for their efforts planning this fun community event.

Saturday, Nov. 29 is Small Business Saturday, come check out what’s new in town, shop local, dine and enjoy your local merchants on Main Street and throughout the Village of

Farmingdale. There is a Grand Opening celebration at Althea’s Boutique at 455 Main St. on Saturday November 29th with a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. raffles and more, plus many merchants offer holiday seasonal-specials. Stop in some of your favorite shops, or visit some newer shops and restaurants, such as Paint on Main, Café Dolce Vita, Hush, Blue Hawaiian,

Dark Horse Tavern, Dollar Tree, The Divine Olive, Thomas & Ellen, Uva Wines and others.

The Tri-Centennial Tree Lighting is set for Tuesday Dec. 2nd at 6 p.m., rain date is Dec. 4. The Gerngras Park tree lighting and park rededication will be Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m., the park is locates at Staples Street and Hallock Avenue. Stop by or call the Chocolate Duck at 310 Main St. and sign up for the second annual Gingerbread Contest to be held at the

Chocolate Duck store on Saturday, Dec. 13 at noon with great prizes and fun for everyone.

As the weather gets colder we would like to remind residents if snow accumulation is over 2 inches there will be plowing, so please remove cars from the street throughout the Village; vehicles can be parked on Lawns and Driveways, but don’t block the sidewalks. Check the Village website for important updates, www.farmingdalevillage.com and you can also sign up

for email notifications on the website as well.  The Board of Trustees and all of us at Farmingdale Village wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Blessed Holiday Season.
