AARP No. 3983 to Meet At Clinton Martin Park Center

The AARP Chapter No. 3983 will meet at Clinton Martin Park Recreational Center, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park. The group will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and St. Joseph’s Day with Irish Soda Bread and a Canoli Cake from Marzullo’s bakery. Further, there will be a sing-a-long conducted by HSBC Vice Presidents Robert Valli and Robert Atanasio.

Antique and Collectibles Auction at First Presbyterian Church

The First Presbyterian Church, 16 South 9th Street, New Hyde Park, will hold an Antiques and Collectibles Auction with a viewing at 9 a.m. and a 10 a.m. auction. Included will be artwork, linens, crystal, pressed and milk glass, jewelry, dolls, cameraS, toys, books and more. Call 328-1963 for further information. Refreshments will be available.

Tennis to Stop World Hunger

Tennis Party will be held at the Carefree Racquet, North Merrick. The cost is $15 and players are guaranteed to two hours of playing time and light refreshments. Canned goods will be collected for a local food pantry. Matches are scheduled by the participants at mutually convenient times and sites. The cost is $6 for singles and $10 for doubles. Legislator Bosworth  Announces  Free H1N1 Vaccinations

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth has announced the dispensation of free H1N1 vaccinations from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road in New Hyde Park. This program was arranged by Legislator Bosworth in conjunction with Nassau University Medical Center and the Nassau County Department of Health. No appointments are necessary. Congresswoman McCarthy To Hold Annual Blood Drive

Congresswoman Caroline McCarthy and the Long Island Blood Services, will host a blood drive in Garden City. The Blood Drive will be located in the parking lot between 200 and 400 Garden City Plaza, from 10:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Without the help of donations, area hospitals will not have enough blood to meet their patients’ demands. It is critical that all who can give blood do so as soon as possible. Traditionally, blood is in short supply during winter months. A shortage of donated blood represents a serious public health crisis for our area. If you or anyone you know is eligible to give blood, please consider attending the upcoming blood drive. Blood donors save countless lives every day. Giving blood today may save the life of a child, parent or grandparent tomorrow. Eligibility Criteria: ID with signature or photo, minimum weight 110 lbs. Age 16 to 75 (16 year olds must have parental permission. Age 76 and over need doctor’s note) Eat well (low fat) and drink fluids, no tattoos for the past 12 months. The Williston Park Rotary To Hold Blood Drive

The Williston Park Rotary will hold a blood drive at the East Williston Park Fire Department, Sagamore Avenue, East Williston from 3 to 9 p.m. A blood donation will help to save up to three lives. The community hospitals need help. Please share this lifesaving gift. Be sure to bring: ID with signature or photo. Must be a minimum weight of 100 lbs. Must be 16 to 75 years old (16-year-olds must have parental permission. Donors 76 or older must have doctor’s note.) Eat a low fat diet and drink fluids. No tatoos for the past 12 months.
