The Long Island Children’s Museum has a few sweet treats in store on Saturday, March 14, by hosting its annual Pi Day Festival.
To highlight and educate the infinite number pi (3.14), the museum will be hosting many fun-filled and engaging activities to teach kids the importance of the number. Since 3.14 represents a circle, the activities will all be circular based.
The festival will hold many activities, including craft stations and a scavenger hunt, so everyone can have infinite amounts of fun. There will be a live performance by the Double Dutch Divas. The cherry on top of the festival will be a pie fight with all the participants. This is available to everyone with an admission ticket.
“Pi Day is one of our favorite celebrations because it shows that big ideas — like infinity — can be explored through creativity, movement, laughter, and hands-on discovery,” said Aimee Terzulli, vice president of Program and Visitor Experience. “At LICM, learning isn’t just something you watch. It’s something you jump into.”
The museum’s permanent location opened on Feb. 27, 2002. It holds 14 interactive exhibits along with learning studios and a theater. The exhibits are meant to encourage children’s intellectual growth in an enjoyable environment,
The Long Island Children’s Museum is located at 11 Davis Ave in Garden CIty. More information about this event can be found on its website at www.licm.org. More events can all also be found on the website under the calendar section.
