Brendan Murphy, a fifth-grade student at Sousa, was awarded a certificate of gratitude and appreciation for his support of the Port Washington Veterans of Foreign War on Dec. 23. Two Vietnam veterans, Jerry Tedeschi and Peter Ripullone, presented Murphy with a plaque commending him for his generous act of kindness at the Memorial Day Ceremony earlier in the year.
