Medford Woman Dies After Car Crash

A 77-year-old Medford woman who died after a car crash in Coram is believed to have suffered a medical issue before the collision occurred on Wednesday night.

Suffolk County police said Frances Schlosser was driving a Chevrolet westbound on Middle Country Road when she suddenly veered onto the opposite lane of traffic and crashed into an eastbound Acura at 10:30 p.m.

Both drivers were taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where Schlosser was pronounced dead and the other driver was treated for minor injuries and released.

Sixth Squad detectives impounded both vehicles and are continuing the investigation.
