Oreo is a calm cat who simply wants to be showered with affection. He would be a great lap cat since he loves to watch TV and listen to music. When you are a little busy, he occupies himself with watching the birds outside or napping by the window. Kingston 1

Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:

Kingston is a 5-year-old Cane Corso that came to the shelter as an owner surrender. He was purchased as a puppy from a breeder, but his owners couldn’t keep him any longer. Kingston knows many commands including “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “come”, “place” and supposedly knows commands in German too. Kingston is said to be house trained and crate trained and is on the search for a solo dog home. Kingston displays food and chewy guarding, so an experienced, adult-only home would be ideal for this big boy.

If you’ve ever owned or had the pleasure of knowing a senior animal, they are very sensitive creatures that do not belong in loud, overcrowded shelters. Coco was surrendered to the shelter when her owner went to a hospice facility. Coco’s breed is a Havana cat with distinct characteristics such as a beautiful brown color with gorgeous green eyes. The Havana cat originated from the Siamese breed. Coco loves to be pet and is a quiet, calm cat. Coco has lived with another cat and would love to live happily again in her new home.


Aurora is a pure-bred beagle that was found as a stray in Farmingdale. She had no microchip and her previous owners never came looking for her. Her approximate age is between 7 and 9 years old. Upon our evaluation it is believed that Aurora would do best in a home with no other pets. Please come to the shelter to meet this adorable girl. She deserves a second chance at a great home.
