As New Year’s resolutioners try to keep up with their fitness goals for 2019 at Planet Fitness and iLoveKickboxing.com in Aero Plaza Shopping Center on Route 107, Roast Sandwich House stands just next door tempting gymgoers to indulge in edible guilty pleasures.
Roast has been serving their all-natural, whole roasted meats in Melville since 2010, but it wasn’t until 2016 that Hicksville was the lucky recipient of the sandwich shop’s second location. The unassuming storefront lends itself to Roast being a hidden gem in the shopping center, but it’s one worth discovering.
With everything cooked in-house and made-to-order, there is no chance of ordering a meal less than amazing. With sides like Three Cheese Mac complete with bacon and bread crumbs, Sweet Potato Tater Tots topped with cinnamon and sugar, and Housemade French Fries served with the shop’s own legendarily delicious Roast Fry Sauce, you can’t go wrong.
Soups and a plethora of salad options guarantee something yummy for those looking to eat on the healthy side after a workout, but the real fun comes with ordering one of Roast’s
famous sandwiches. Specialties include the Country Fried Chicken, featuring fried chicken that puts KFC to shame, topped with pepper jack, crispy bacon, tomato and hot sauce pickle ranch dressing on a brioche bun.
For their regular sandwich menu, there’s classics like the Tuna Salad Sandwich, Philly Cheese Steak and BLT, but it’s the Crispy Chicken Alla Vodka—a favorite among the staff with its breaded chicken cutlet, gooey melted mozzarella, parmesan, basil and vodka sauce on a garlic semolina hero—that will have guests coming back time and time again.
Wraps and paninis are also available, along with a kids menu of classics like grilled cheese and chicken fingers.
