Adoption Magic

Oh, Oh, Oh it’s Magic!  This 4-year-old box arrived at the shelter in terrible condition. He was emaciated and had wounds and skin infections throughout his body. He was a trooper from day one though and he has developed into a happy, sweet boy.  He enjoys walks and letting loose in the yard as time is available. Based on his condition coming in, Magic likely did not have much exposure to living inside a home and he will need training and the time to acclimate to that. He is very willing to learn though and with guidance and love, he will become a great addition to your home!!

For more information about Magic, contact the animal shelter at (631) 643-9270.

Available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter

Adoption Hannibal

Hannibal, also known as Hanni, is a five-year-old fella who is bursting with energy. He is fun-loving, social, and very active. He loves to be outside and chase balls, but a future home should keep a close eye on him, as he may try and escape to look for new friends. Some of Hanni’s favorite activities include sunbathing, going for walks, and riding in the car. He has dealt with a few ear infections, as well as some light allergies. Hannibal has lived with other dogs in the past and should get along with other pets and older children as long as they respect his space. A wonderful guy like Hannibal deserves a loving family, and he knows that perfect home is out there somewhere for him.

To adopt handsome Hanni, please call the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.

Adoption Slim

Introducing the endearing Slim! Slim’s journey took a fortunate turn when he was saved from the euthanasia list in Manhattan. Now, this sweet and soulful dog is seeking his forever home or a loving foster environment. Slim needs a compassionate family willing to help him overcome some challenges. He has some resource guarding tendencies and defensive behavior toward males – both of which can be improved with the assistance of our experienced trainer. At approximately 6-years-young, Slim is ready to embark on the next chapter of his life.

Adoption Kane

Two-year-old Kane’s foster can’t stop raving about his zest for life—he’s a true nature enthusiast who finds pure joy in running through the woods and frolicking in the ocean, a natural-born swimmer. This big-hearted pup is an absolute mush, showering kisses and cuddles on everyone he meets. When the night falls, he snuggles right up beside you, seeking warmth and companionship. Kane currently shares his home with three other dogs, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. However, when it comes to his forever home, it’s recommended he be in a household without small dogs or cats due to his exuberant energy, which might be overwhelming for them. Kane has mastered commands like sit, shake, and come, and he’s highly motivated by treats, making training a breeze. His go-to toys are chew toys, keeping him engaged and entertained.

Adoption Trevor

Trevor and his sibling were rescued last year, but when his brother passed away, Trevor found himself feeling incredibly isolated. However, upon being introduced to the rescues cat room, he immediately began forming connections with all the inhabitants. While he tends to be initially skittish and hissy, once he recognizes that you mean no harm, he becomes open to receiving affection and welcomes all the love he can get. This two-year-old boy needs a foster home that will provide the space for him to grow and regain his trust in humans.

Adoption Queenie

Meet Queenie! This gorgeous girl was saved from the euthanasia list in NYC earlier this year but has been nothing but the biggest love bug since coming to Lend-a-Paw! She is slowly but surely making feline friends but as her name states, she is the queen bee and would do best around cats and people who understand when she just needs some beauty sleep. She is about 3-years-young and ready to go home with you today!
