Throughout February, Buckley Country Day School students participated in the “Valentines for Veterans” project, an initiative sponsored by the Nassau County Legislative Office.

The students crafted over 200 beautiful Valentine’s Day cards to be shared with veterans in nursing homes and rehabilitation centers throughout the county.

Buckley Lower School students Alexandra L., Dominick A., and Olivia P.S. presented the valentines to staff member and Marine Corps veteran Matthew Gangone, who then delivered them to the Nassau County Legislative Office for distribution.

“It is truly inspiring to see our students embrace the spirit of giving and gratitude,” said Elizabeth Lyons, head of Lower School at Buckley. “This initiative reminds us all of the importance of honoring our veterans and ensuring they know their sacrifices will never be forgotten.”

The Buckley community is proud to take part in this annual project and looks forward to continuing its tradition of service and appreciation for those who have dedicated their lives to the country.
