Despite the pandemic, revelers can still celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest on Long Island this fall with traditional beer and food at local craft breweries and German restaurants.

Here on Long Island there will be plenty of Oktoberfest fun beginning this weekend, with lots of German beer and food along with chances to prove your strength and ability to withstand pain in Stein-holding contests.    

Oktoberfest season is in full swing and a major attraction at festivals across Long Island is special Oktoberfest beer brewed in accordance with traditional German styles.

The 185th Munich Oktoberfest will not kick off until Sept. 22, but here on Long Island the fun will start this weekend.

To fall, malt and one helluva royal wedding!
