I read with interest the column titled “Where Is Al Gore?” in which Robert McMillan criticized Al Gore’s concept that human activity is the major factor behind global warming.
Like Mr. McMillan, I am not a scientist but I do know that the polar ice caps and glaciers are melting and that sea level is rising. Many of the highly populated areas of the world are situated close to the sea, including Long Island.
Is Mr. McMillan so sure of his opinion that he is willing to gamble on this and make a mockery of Al Gore’s position on global warming? There is still time to prevent a catastrophe.
