LI Fine Art Festival
On May 21 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and May 22 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) the grounds of Eisenhower Park (Kite Field) will host the second LI Fine Art Festival. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to enjoy and purchase original, hand-made artwork created by top national and international artisans. Over 10,000 pieces of extraordinary original art will be for sale, including the works of painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, digital artists, glass, fiber and ceramic artists along with creations in mixed-media, metal, and wood. Grand Opening Last Hope Animal Rescue Shelter
Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc. has been helping homeless dogs and cats on Long Island for 30 years and has just expanded its services by moving into a larger facility. The festivities for the “official” grand opening of the Last Animal Rescue Wantagh Adoption Center, 3300 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh (the former Bideawee) on June 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center. There will be a blessing of the facility and animals followed by tours, balloons, face painting, raffles, a jewelry sale and more. The celebration continues on June 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a brunch at George Martin’s Grill Fire, 22 W. Sunrise Hwy., Merrick. Cost $45 per person. Seating is limited. Send payment with name, address, phone number and email to Last Hope. Your name will be placed on a guest list at the door. No tickets will be mailed. Donation to Last Hope can also be accepted if you cannot attend the brunch.

Free Veteran Pancake Breakfast
Serving our country with the utmost courage and honor, the selfless contributions of the veterans of this great nation are an enduring testament to the values of liberty, justice and freedom that all Americans hold dear. As a small thank you to the veterans who reside in his district, Senator Kemp Hannon invites vets and one guest to a free Veterans Pancake Breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon at American Legion Post 1711, 3123 North Jerusalem Rd., Levittown.
