National Autism Awareness Day
In honor of National Autism Awareness Day, The ELIJA School, 100 Periwinkle Rd., Levittown, will be hosting its 3rd Annual ELIJA School Autism Awareness Week (ESAAW 2012), April 1-5. Providing the Long Island community with a variety of events and activities, ELIJA hopes to increase community awareness and involvement with ELIJA and the Autism community at large. Town Meeting
They have changed the date of the Town Meeting from March 28 to April 3 at 7 p.m. at the Karopczyc School. This was done to accommodate officers from the 8th Precinct who plan on attending this meeting. At the last Town Meeting, the community asked if they could invite officials from the 8th Precinct to speak about what law enforcement is doing to address the drug problem in the community. Two 8th Precinct officials will be on hand to engage in an open dialogue with the community. It is appreciated that the police department is able attend this meeting.

Prom Boutique Dress Drive
The Levittown Division Avenue High School chapter of SADD is beginning its annual Prom Boutique Dress Drive. Donations of gently-used prom-appropriate gowns or short dresses can be brought to Division Avenue’s main lobby where convenient hangers and clothing racks will be located. All sizes are needed. Please make sure that donated items are clean and undamaged. Accessories such as shoes, handbags, and costume jewelry are also needed. The boutique will be open for any student in the Levittown school community who needs it to make prom night extra special. Any remaining prom dresses will be donated to the Long Island Volunteer Center for Girls. The Division Avenue Dress Drive will run through March 30.

Levittown Historical Society and Museum
The organization collects, preserves and educates history of Levittown. Holds seven yearly general meetings in the Community Room of the Levittown Library and maintains the museum located in the Levittown Memorial Education Center, Room 10, 150 Abbey Ln., Levittown. The museum contains history of Levittown, WWII memorabilia, artifacts from the Levitt houses, toys, furniture, clothing of the ‘40s and ‘50s, replicas of the Levitt kitchen and the Levitt ranch living room.
