The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s John F. Kennedy High School recently announced the following student-athletes as the District’s Athletes of the Month for December 2013: These students personify the School District’s emphasis on athletic participation while maintaining focus on academic achievements.
Krystal Korason
Freshman – Girls’ Basketball
“Krystal Korason led the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team to two wins over the holiday break, while averaging 13 points and nine rebounds per game throughout the month of December. Krystal displays great passion for the game, and has an excellent work ethic on the court and in the classroom.”

Peter Pappas
Freshman – Wrestling
“Peter is currently ranked as the no. 1 wrestler in the 106 pound weight class on Long Island, and is ranked the sixth best wrestler in New York by NewYorkWrestlingNews.com. He compiled a perfect 15-0 record in the month of December. His performances have been so dominant, that he went 15 consecutive matches before surrendering a single point to an opponent.
He has taken home a first place medal in every tournament that he entered this season, and captured the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award at the annual Hank Paris Memorial Tournament.”
