Fourth- and fifth-graders in the Theatre Company at South Grove Elementary School in Syosset performed “Annie” for students, faculty, parents and family on May 30, under the direction of advisers Allison Kelly and Sue Petrosillo. Students in the production had to audition for their parts and have been rehearsing during recess since the beginning of the school year.

Taking on the roles of Annie, Miss Hannigan, Mr. Warbucks and orphans, among other parts, students brought the musical to life with numbers including “Hard-Knock Life,” “Tomorrow,” “Easy Street” and “Maybe.” All sets for the production were designed and crafted by the school’s Stage Design Company.
