Syosset Adds Up Medals

Three of Syosset’s H.B. Thompson Middle School students presented, explained and defended their research math papers at the Al Kalfus Long Island Math Fair Nassau preliminary round at Hofstra University on Feb. 27.

Seventh-grade student Esha Sharma presented on the Fibonacci sequence, while seventh-grader Sophia Jang presented on fractals. Eighth-grader AJ LaBarca presented on Eratosthenes and the circumference of the earth.
