Christopher Canadeo put the finishing touches on an outstanding winter track season by competing in the Shot Put Throw at the 2015 New York State Indoor Track & Field Championships at historic Barton Hall on the campus of Cornell University. Canadeo became the first ever Oyster Bay High School winter track athlete to represent the school at the meet, having finished second in the Section 8 State Qualifier meet. In front of a packed Barton Hall, surrounded by family members, friends and his coach Christopher Weber, Canadeo competed admirably against the best shot put throwers in the state. His throw of 47 feet, 3.75 inches placed him 21st overall.
When asked about his experience, Canadeo said, “It was nice to watch the best athletes in the state compete. I learned a lot about how I can improve.”
Canadeo is very excited for the upcoming spring track season, with hopes of breaking the school’s shot put and discus records.
