Medford Man Killed in Car Crash

A 44-year-old Medford man was killed in a car crash on the Southern State Parkway in Islip Terrace on Friday afternoon.

New York State police said Mark A. Verrelli was driving a Toyota Scion westbound when his vehicle exited the roadway, drove onto the center median and struck a tree west of exit 43N at 3:45 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.
