Man Arrested After Human Remains Found On Montauk Highway

A Patchogue man has been arrested following the discovery of human remains along Montauk Highway near County Road 101 in East Patchogue on Thursday afternoon.

Garry Cowell, 72, of St. Edwards St., was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and concealment of a corpse.

The remains were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, and currently remain unidentified. Cowell was arraigned in Central Islip on Friday.
