Pam Panzenbeck, Glen Cove Mayor, Republican

Pam-P

Here’s everything you need to know about Pam Panzenbeck, who is seeking reelection as mayor of Glen Cove in the 2025 elections.

Statement

I am running for a third term as mayor of the City of Glen Cove because I am proud of the number of accomplishments that my administration has made.

We have taken the city from a multi-year deficit to a surplus, achieved the highest Moody’s Bond Rating in over 20 years, as well as a No Fiscal Stress designation from the New York State Comptroller—first time since 2017.   All this while making major refurbishments to all parks and recreational facilities, water facilities, and municipal buildings.   I need to Keep The Momentum Going.

Bio:

A lifelong Glen Cover, I am pleased to say “I Love Glen Cove.”  I am a graduate of Glen Cove High School and a proud former student of Landing School.  My family has a rich history here and several of them set a great example for me in terms of service to my community.  I am a person who is a true “people person.”

I taught in the Levittown Public Schools for 34 years on the secondary level. After I retired, I served on the Glen Cove City Council for three terms.

As a council member, I served as the liaison to the Glen Cove Youth Board and Senior Center, a member of the Glen Cove Beautification Commission, the Senior Advisory Board, and the Glen Cove BID. These were some of the responsibilities that came with the honor of being a council member. It was during that time that I learned much about the workings of the city.

My community service consists of many varied interests: for eight years I have served on the Memorial Day Parade Committee and the Veteran Monument Refurbishment Plan.

It is important that our monuments be maintained and restored to honor those who served and fought for our freedom.    I am a member of the Glen Cove Rotary, which I joined because of its works of civic accomplishments and generosity.

We have redone and placed the Sgt. Ralph Young Monument in Glen Cove’s Veterans Memorial Park.   I served as an auxiliary member at Glen Cove Community Hospital for 10 years.

As the grandparent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, I am happy to be part of the Cooking For a Cure fundraising event. I have chaired the ticket booth at the Feast of St. Rocco for more than 10 years.   I am a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and many other civic organizations.

I have served as the mayor of Glen Cove for two terms and am currently running for a third term.   I am very proud of my administration’s many accomplishments.  I have a strong desire to keep the momentum going.   Glen Cove has received a great deal of positive attention from the news media during my tenure as mayor.

My fiscal record stands for itself.  In my first three years, the deficit was eliminated and we now have a surplus.   In 2023, the City of Glen Cove was given a No Fiscal Stress Designation—the first time since 2017.   Our Moody’s Credit Rating was upgraded from Baa2 to Baa1 which is the highest credit rating the City has had over the past 20 years.

I have focused on our parks and recreational facilities for all to enjoy, making major improvements to every single facility. Stanco Park, the home of our golf course, has a new pro shop, steel poles and refreshed driving range, new basketball courts, new tennis/pickleball courts, and major improvements to the golf course.

A sprinkler system will be installed at the end of the season this year. Morgan Memorial Park and Pryibil Beach have been completely refurbished, including a rebuilt fishing pier. Maccarone Memorial Stadium and Pascucci Fields have also seen upgrades.

Every municipal building has had upgrades, including roofs, heating, and air-conditioning systems, to name a few. I have provided much-needed equipment to our first responders and DPW workers to ensure they are able to do their jobs. That includes police vehicles, fire engines, ambulances, and garbage trucks.

Our water infrastructure is currently undergoing rehabilitation.  Work is being done or in the planning process for every well to ensure an adequate, safe water supply.

I graduated from New York Institute of Technology with bachelor of science and master of science degrees.

I am married to Bob Panzenbeck, who has years of service in the community as well.

We are the parents of three grown children,  Bobby, Billy, and Laura and the grandparents of seven.
