The Town of North Hempstead has announced they will host the 2025 Veterans Donation Drive. Proceeds will benefit the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency’s Food Pantry as well as the Northport VA Medical Center. The donation drive will run through Friday, Dec. 5.

“Our veterans never let us down before, and now it’s our turn to support them when they need it most,” North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena said. “These heroes are the reason we can live freely and enjoy the beauty of North Hempstead, and it’s so important that we chip in and donate to this drive so they can do the same.”

Residents are asked to donate gift cards from only Walmart, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, CVS and Walgreens, which will help local veterans combat food insecurity and aid their overall well-being. The Northport VA and the Nassau County VSA will distribute gift cards to veterans receiving support services and to other veterans who need them.

Those interested in donating can drop off gift cards at Town Hall at 220 Plandome Road, Clinton G. Martin Park at 1601 Marcus Ave., or Michael J. Tully Park at 1801 Evergreen Ave. Those who want to donate can also call 516-869-7604 to arrange for pickup.
