Pink Aid, a national nonprofit dedicated to financially supporting underserved breast cancer patients, held Pink Rocks The Beat — its 12th annual Long Island fundraising gala — on Oct. 8 at The Paramount in Huntington.
Actress and breast cancer survivor Miranda McKeon, who plays Josie Pye in Netflix’s Anne with an E, served as keynote speaker for the fundraiser, which routinely raises more than $1 million.
“Miranda’s story is one of remarkable courage,” Pink Aid Long Island President Janine Mullen said. “Her voice reminds us why our work is so urgent — no one, no matter how young or strong, is immune to a diagnosis of breast cancer. But with the right support system, no one has to fight alone.”
Pop icon Joey Fatone of N’SYNC fame served as guest emcee for the fundraiser that was billed as a festive and memorable evening of fashion, music and unity that showcased the resilience, optimism, and inspiration of the breast cancer community of survivors, patients and supporters.
The event’s lineup included a “Best of Fall 2025” designer fashion show by Mitchells, a celebration of life runway show featuring breast cancer survivors, and a surprise musical guest performance.
Pink Aid’s Emergency Financial Assistance Program, known as the Pink Purse, is the group’s program to support financially insecure breast cancer patients created in 2011 in response to a nationwide epidemic of unmet needs among patients struggling with their treatment and its financial ramifications.
